Patong Beach, Phuket

For the last two days I've been at the Amanta Guest House on Patong Beach in Phuket. This beach town is pretty much like any other beach town except that there are only a few large hotels/resorts, most are smaller this this guest house. The beach is big but crowded and the sun is really hot...it is about 90 degrees all day long and about 85 at night. I spent all day at the beach (except for a 2.5 hour break for writing my paper for class and eating lunch) and have a nice, healthy tan...Yes, i used sun block and was in the shade for a lot of the day. My birthday went well, although it's hard to believe I'm 20 now! We are doing class activities tomorrow, and on Monday are going to go on a snorkeling trip...it's supposed to be pretty good on the surrounding islands.
